Notifications Enhancement

Introduction

I was tasked with improving existing in-app notifications (left above) for the Polaris deal tracker platform. Polaris is the Apple TV+ internal business content management website. The cross-functional team at Apple TV+ manage and track all vendors, streaming services, financials, cast & crew members all through Polaris.

Results: Increased task completion rates by 52% and reduced time to completion by 28%.

User interviews of internal Apple users on the TTV+ team during the UX research process.

Journey map created to distill learnings and insights gathered during the research phase.

user research

Initial research identified two key areas for improvement:

  • Manage large numbers of notifications through search, filter, sort interactions.

  • Grant specific contextual functionality to individual notifications.

User flows I created to help assist in better understanding and communicating out the complex tasks in Polaris.

Low fidelity mockups I created in Invision’s Freehand tool to quickly ideate and iterate through early design stages.

Design system

We utilized Apple’s internal design system, Apple Standards, and built our own design libraries, known as VueKit. Contact me directly to view more of my work at Apple.
